1969 heralded the arrival of the original Seiko Speedtimer and proved a landmark year in the history of the chronograph. The incredible Calibre 6139 movement was the first to incorporate a column wheel and a vertical clutch. These two elements delivered an almost faultless timekeeping ability, and the watch’s pleasing aesthetic captured the world’s attention.

A new breed of luxury

The 2022 Seiko Chronograph pays homage to the legendary original, shot through with modern sophistication and style, designed and hand-assembled entirely in-house by Seiko’s most skilled watchmakers.

This watch is destined for greatness. It features a stunning midnight blue dial that appears to change its colour intensity with chameleonlike effortlessness. Powered by Calibre 8R46, this Speedtimer iteration, like the 1969 original, incorporates both vertical clutch and column wheel mechanisms.
