Five days only at Smales Subiaco! Wednesday August 24 to Sunday August 28.
From Thursday August 25 to Sunday August 29, Smales will be hosting the entire new Rolex Baselworld 2016 collection at its Subiaco showroom for public viewing, before it continues its global tour.
Rolex released 11 new models this year at Baselworld - the world’s most prestigious watch and jewellery fair, held annually in Basel, Switzerland. A total of 37 pieces will be showcased - each model in its available variations.
Rolex Daytona - Collection Highlight
The highlight of the new collection, the steel Daytona, is in high demand from watch enthusiasts with waiting periods already reaching two years or more.
It has been 16 years since the release of the last steel Daytona and the new version has been worth the wait featuring a new Monobloc Cerachrom Bezel making it virtually scratchproof, corrosion-resistant and resistant to the colour-fading effects of UV rays.
Rolex Watches - New Releases
The 2016 new watches also include new releases from the Yacht-Master, DateJust, Pearlmaster, Lady-Datejust 28, Day-Date, Air-King, Explorer and Cellini lines.
Additional highlights include the application of Rolex’s Superlative Chronometer certification, redefined in 2015, to its entire production line (last year only the new Day-Date came with the redefined certification).
This trademarked innovation surpasses the standard set by the official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute, the Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres (COSC) which requires watches to run within a maximum average deviation of -4/+6 seconds per day in order to receive official chronometer certification.
Rolex watches now surpass this standard. In addition to receiving the required COSC certification, the company tests its movements in-house at its dedicated testing facility to ensure they meet its stringent -2/+2 seconds accuracy ratings – in other words, TWICE that required of an official chronometer
