At Baselworld this year, Rolex released the latest edition to its iconic Oyster Perpetual collection – a version featuring a big 39mm dial in three new colours.
The Oyster Perpetual is a no fuss design, while retaining all the qualities that make Rolex such brilliant timepieces. It was, of course, the foundation for the likes of the Submariner and Daytona but while new release professional pieces continue to be very difficult to obtain, the Oyster Perpetual is both more accessible and more affordable.
This doesn’t mean it is any less Rolex. In fact, one could argue that this simplicity and practicality make it quintessential Rolex. And in our opinion, the bigger dial makes it all the more appealing.
It uses the Rolex calibre 3132 movement, is waterproof to 100m and COSC certified. It’s stainless steel for everyday practicality and is available with a dark rhodium, red grape or blue dial. Each dial is given a little extra pop with nice contrasting markers.
A highly technical look is what many want in a watch, regardless of whether that level of functionality is required. But if all you want is to tell the time with a stylish yet understated look at the very highest quality, then you will find the new Oyster Perpetual hard to beat.
The new Oyster Perpetual 39mm with dark Rhodium dial is currently available at our Subiaco showroom.
